Happy Dr. Seuss Day!

“IT’S DUE, my poster, it’s Dr. Seuss week, you knew”

So I draw, there’s a flaw, is that a paw or a claw?

It’s Yertle! He’s a turtle, not a girdle on a hurdle…

I wake, and I bake, and I cake,

and I decorate..

I dress, I’m a mess, no time to impress…

Its true, here’s a clue, my fingers are blue

I’m late, what’s the date, but wait, no time to exaggerate

I gotta run, gotta go, can’t miss all the fun

two places to be, but only one of me

The stuff is ready, the kid is done, his hair is blue, “KEEP THE CAKE STEADY”

Off the floor, out the door, I know I’m a bore,

It’s my last Dr. Seuss poem, I’ve got no more….

Happy Dr. Seuss Day! As my kids are getting older, I am sure this is the last time we will have a school function for me to have fun with.

Make’s me sad!

See my previous entries here:

We did it again, oh yes we did…

We Seussed up our day…did you?

Old shirts will do, as long as they’re red
we needed some white, maybe the sheets on the bed?
Just a bit of black too for the letters a few
and those trusty old scissors for snip snipping a hoo.

The pieces were ready, the shirts were in need
A do it yourself craft always tackles the deed
Theres work to get did and stuffs to get done
Almost anything is solved with the fantastic glue gun

The first project prepared, the clothing complete
now onto the second part, the head to the feet
It’s a bit more tricky to transform a human
hows about a potion made out of bananas and cumin

A wig would be nice, a wig would be grand
a wig would be easy, like petting a lamb
You see hair doesn’t go up, it likes to be down
except that one piece in the middle of hair town.

To make it stand up, to make it all wild
we needed some tools such as a grinder and file.
Upside down hair meant upside down face
It would have been easier to have an upside down place

Maybe some helium or a 100 tiny balloons
maybe the trick is in the cartoons
just a pinch and a squeeze, and not a single tear
they frolicked and danced in front of the mirror

The second step was finished, almost ready to go
they will represent well, this priority’s not low
Last but not least, we needed hair color of blue
to simply resemble Thing 1 and Thing 2

We Seuss-ed Up Our Day…Did You?

As my alarm clock exploded I sprung out of bed
With hair-do’s to do’s & childrens to get fed
I ramboozled the frying pans and shamrookied the fruit
I calmed histeria and unraveled the dispute

I got out the basket of ribbons & box of bands
All eyes were upon me as I glanced at my fans
I gibbled the wire &  pondunked the plastic cup
I even considered instead of hairspray using syrup

With a great twist, strong pull & without a tear
We divided and conquered and parted the hair
We picked colors of bands that matched with perfection
Although we had the greatest selection

We inserted the  drinkware with much ease
Yet the wires and braids stared at us with a tease
I glared and sneered as I poked and pulled
I tossed and turned as if I could be fooled

Though some may say its messy and wrong
We giggled and wiggled as it appeared quite strong
With a massive amount of hairspray and mousse…..

I’m going a little crazy here…so I decided to write a little song for ya, well, it’s for us all!!!

*I expect to be accompanied by a banjo, harmonica….and a pair of knee slapping hillbillies.  Alright….Here we go!

Weeeeeelllllll, I woke up this mornin to a normal day,
had lunch with friends the Applebees way
Gotta call from momma sayin dads in the ER
He’s got spots all over and they think it’s cancer.

*don’t cry…it’s a country song*

I kissed the husband and the kids, flew across the US
It’s been 3 months and my lifes a mess
My fam flew here but our stuff went Weeesssstttt…..
You see, we’re supposed to move there cuz it’s for the best

Oh Florida, oh Florida….where I spend each and every day
Oh Florida, oh Florida….so much to do….if your rich and can afford to

Mom and dad are in the mobile, we’re sleepin next door
It’s like upscale campin on beds, not the floor
We’re here in Polk City, the lightening Capitol of the world
And of course it’s storm season which makes me wanna hurl

My skins a new shade but it’s a new texture too
A little hot and sticky but the blisters are a few
We got the pool from Walmart, parked in the front yard
It’s a picture that should really be on a postcard

Oh Florida, oh Florida….where I spend each and every day
Whether at home, with Mickey or by the Bay
Oh Florida, oh Florida….so much to do….if your rich and can afford to

We’ve been to all the parks and seen alligators too
We’ve eatin fresh fish and stayed in hotels with a view
We’ve grown webbed feet from the pools and beach,
We’ve even had sand stuck in places we can’t reach

My dads much better so we can’t stay long
We got the plane tickets which brings an end to my song
And while we wait you can hear from me from…..
Twitter, Facebook or

Joy! What it looks like!

*I wrote this for a friend of mine!

You Are a Picture of Joy to Me

You are a picture of joy to me
From every facet of life I see
Your relationship with the Lord is so rich and true
I see it in every little thing you do

You look at your husband with such love and respect
You see your kids and your face lights up
Your daughters were sent husbands straight from heaven
And God continued to bless your family with Jevan

You serve your family with the utmost pride
As if you’re serving with Jesus right by your side
You’re an example to follow as I seek to be
Because you are a picture of joy to me

*This poem was seriously put in my head just months before 3 family members were diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t even understand the depth of what I was writing at the time. It means INFINITELY more to me now!

The splendor before me is beyond description
Like a palace but more, its better than fiction
The grand beauty and joy surrounding its glory
The people so free who want to share their story

My body weighed down with confusion and sorrow
Just a moment of their joy I wish I could borrow
I stare at the crowds so full of happiness and bliss
They’re singing and dancing and I’m stuck with this….

I begin to walk with no direction in hand
But my feet seem to lead as fast as they can
I am led to an entrance, the most beautiful I’ve seen
Its shimmering walls with décor so pristine

And further I’m lead to a room so warm and secure
As if part of my load was lifted right at the door
This room was different, as if set aside
For something much more then just stepping inside

I lifted my eyes and saw Him sitting alone
With a glow and a smile on a magnificent throne
He reached out for me saying “what took you so long?”
“I’ve been patiently waiting to make you healthy and strong!”

“Its burdens and weights I want you to lay at my feet
But when your heart is broken, down here we will meet”
He stepped down from His throne to sit next to me
and with His arms wrapped around me, I could finally see,

That His love is much more than we can conceive
He waits patiently for us to truly believe
He makes the blind to see and the lame to walk
He heals the sick and doesn’t even need us to talk

I turned so I could see My Lord Jesus face to face
and asked Him if He would stay with me as I leave this place
He answered “I will never leave you nor forsake you, this you should know
And because you have asked me, of course I will go”
